I had to get both pages as it makes a perfect mini story.

My favorite group of signs from the March on Washington. I complimented the woman on the work for life one and she said it was important to catch and be pleasing to the eye.

Written by Greg Rucka, art by Steve Lieber. Love how Steve creates texture by using whiteout for snow. Exciting story with excellent female leads turned into an unfortunately dreadful movie.

I love Eduardo Risso’s art but his 100 Bullets pages were out of my price range so I was pleased to find that Grant Goleash had his color guides for sale at San Diego. The late 1990s were a time of change in how comics were colored so there is a wide variety of style in color guides. Grant colored an 8×10 copy of the art which was used to determine the color used to print the comic. Some colorists still wrote in the CMYK values on the page. Much of the industry was transitioning to digital coloring.

The lovely Georgina from The Murder Family by Evan Dorkin. She hangs in my hallway to remind me that killing people is usually not the best way to solve a problem.

Batman’s ancestor protects the Holy Grail from an assassin. No really, this was a legit Batman book.

Illustration for the Batman graphic novel, The Chalice. Yes, it is a Holy Grail story. I love Van Fleet’s work but his full painted pages were out of my price range. I was pleased to get these two smaller illustrations from him.
