Email I Just Sent to the Office
When you take the last of any type of beverage from the drink fridge in the copy & supplies room, it is up to you to undertake the long and arduous journey to the drinks & supplies closet. Yes, you will undergo many perilous tasks in securing more tasty beverages from the closet gnomes (thankfully the troll infestation has been cleared) but you will win the admiration and sincere thanks of your coworkers. Plus your coworkers will not have a cranky Monday start when they discover there is no cold fizzy water after their hot and sweaty metro trip.
Well that is something different.
Armored Car Robbery in front of my building

Walked out to get some lunch and wondered why there were so many unmarked police cars double-parked on the street but I chalked it up to some bigwig eating at Smith & Wolensky. Coming back I noticed the armored car and videographer so I jokingly asked one of the passport office guards if the car had been robbed. Yep, that is exactly what happened. Amazingly bold considered the amount of car and foot traffic in the area and armed guards in the building.
Update: This news report is awesome. My whole office is betting on it being an inside job.

Others have been much more eloquent than I about the 35th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade so I’ll just be blunt. Hell yes I would have an abortion. I don’t have any moral or physical problems with the procedure. But, birth control is easier so I am pretty damn adamant about using it. You would think the Pro-Life crowd would also be pro birth control on the simple theory that no pregnancy means no abortion. And yet, let’s look at Georgia.
Proposing an amendment to the Constitution so as to provide that the paramount right to life is vested in each human being from the moment of fertilization without regard to age, race, sex, health, function, or condition of dependency; to provide for submission of this amendment for ratification or rejection; and for other purposes.
Moment of fertilization. That kicks out the pill, depo, the patch, IUD and all other hormone based birth control methods as they can destroy a fertilized egg.
