This is the back wall of The Panda Store at National Zoo. You have to love their truth in advertising. I did succeed in leaving without buying any stuffed pandas. However I suspect a stuffed red panda and clouded leopard will make their way to my niece and nephew this holiday season. I like those animals better than the giant pandas.
Big Difference
One big difference between growing up in West Texas and growing up in Far North Queensland, Australia is snakes. Or rather the size of the snakes. Sure we have lost a lot of dogs to rattlesnakes in my extended family. But we never watched the family dog get eaten by a 110lb python that had been stalking the dog for days. But that could all change.
